Asheville NC: Perfect Timing

Our arrival in Asheville was a case of right place, right time. Right place because the area (not as affected by the drought as Georgia, though taking precautionary measures) has bloomed into the fireworks of autumn. As we drove along, every turn brought us fresh sights of beautiful trees in vibrant oranges, purples, reds and of course plenty of greens. It didn't hurt that we were in the Appalachian Mountains, so we could drive up and down and see valleys and gorges and hills and peaks full of forestry.

We started from Cornelia hoping to visit Tallulah Gorge, but it was entirely too foggy due to the first rain the area has seen in a long time, so we weren't too disappointed. The drive up was very enjoyable, and a stop at the Spring Ridge Creamery ensured that we'd have creamy goodness to enjoy later.

Right time, because our visit apparently prompted some other Orlando friends (most now moved from there and living in various places) to come together in Asheville. We always have a good time together, and this was no exception. Here's a web gallery to prove it.
