Our southernmost road, Dallas Road, faces Washington State. The Strait of Juan de Fuca is the body of water separating us from the states. On a clear day, we can actually see part of Washington State with the Olympic Mountains, yet on a cloudy day, the totally disappear. It is the oddest thing. I have to say that I just love coming down Highway 17 and seeing the snowy peaks of the Olympic Mountains over the city skyline. (all pics below except the first from picvic community on livejournal)
Taken from somewhere on Dallas Road
Clover Point which is also on Dallas Road (see the boat?)
More pics here and here.
There you go. Mountains in one shot and gone in the next.
