My friend Liz and I are going to go up Vancouver and Victoria for a week (ending on Labor Day) to do a bit of a recce for The Big Move.
It will be mostly sightseeing for her, but I'll be looking around neighbourhoods, checking out housing ads and even trying to meet and greet the local Mac shops in search of some work. I'll probably turn in my Application for Sponsorship papers at the immigration office in Victoria as well.
I've been to both areas on two previous trips, but I'm excited for Liz -- it's not only her first visit to Vanc-n-Vic, it's her first visit to that whole region of North America. I hope she will enjoy it as much as I do.

You know, that big landmass to the north of the US that most Americans know almost nothing about? :)
Turns out it’s a very diverse and interesting (and beautiful) place with history, culture, multiple political parties, a budget surplus (most of the time), eco-friendliness, world respect and a vision for the future.
We find that very attractive. We hope you will too.
