Back on iTunes!

After a short fubar-esque delay caused by a bug in iWeb 09, I'm pleased to report that Chas' Crusty Old Wave - The Podcast! is now available again on iTunes. Subscribers should finally be getting February's episode (#63).

If you are not already a listener, and think you would enjoy a rather smart-alecky tour of the best in obscure New Wave Music as only college radio can provide, you can easily subscribe through iTunes by clicking here, or if you do not have iTunes (what?!) you can always visit the website directly here.

Crusty Post!

Those of you who are subscribed to my podcast -- Chas’ Crusty Old Wave -- via iTunes will have to wait a bit for the February episode to show up.

Apple made some changes in how iWeb interacts with the iTunes store, so while all the old episodes are still available, the new one (#63 from 30-Oct-92) is not yet there. They are aware of the problem, and presumably will take a break from working on iOwnEverything to fix it in due course.

Those who do not subscribe via iTunes, the new episode is up on the web site. Enjoy.

Radio Chas Presents: Crusty Old Wave (the Podcast!)

Not sure if I’ve mentioned to most readers that I have yet another blog project going ... a music blog called Radio Chas! Each week, we take a group or specific album, write about it, and includes a sample track in every entry! It’s like the prize that comes in your box of cereal!

The albums, groups and genres covered are as diverse as ... well, as diverse as my music tastes, since that’s what I'm writing about after all!

Of course, that's just one song at a time. If you want “the full monty” as they say, you might prefer the podcast of my old WPRK radio show, Chas' Crusty Old Wave!

We’ve just put the latest edition up, a cornucopia of name-brand 80s hits, so if you’ve been thinking of introducing someone to the show, this is probably a good starting point. The other episodes get weird from here ...

Another C.O.W. in The Wall

Another month, another episode of Chas’ Crusty Old Wave - The Podcast hits iTunes (and can always be found at Crusty Old Wave.com as well).

This is the first episode to get the dreaded “explicit” tag for language and sexual imagery (jailbait sexual imagery, no less!), but you know rock n roll has a long and sordid heritage of singing the praises of underage love, and it should come as no surprise that punk rock embraced the forbidden and profane with aplomb (and a good hook!).

Of course, there’s a lot more of offer, including an unusually high dose of Man or Astroman and perhaps a bit less wuss-rock than we normally offer. Call it our “leather jacket” episode.

An update to our ongoing story about right feet washing up mysteriously in BC: the latest foot belonged to a woman wearing a running shoe. The mystery deepens.

We don't have Memorial Day up here (we have Remembrance Day in November), so instead this weekend was dedicated (at least here in Victoria) to the Swiftsure Yacht Race instead. I didn't go see it but there's been plenty of local TV coverage. Here's a video before the race began.

We are heading to Chicago later this week to see friends and family. We are very excited for many reasons, not least of which is that we get to go on the Victoria Clipper, an "express" ferry service to Seattle. Yes, there will be a gallery.
